A collaboration between hipster magazine Vice and Warner Bros. to promote their new film Project X – essentially one crazy teen party – the pair threw a party of their own last Thursday. It’s fair to say anticipation was high, and that’s before we saw what was billed. In a warehouse in Dalston (we got that) the party was meant to be across eight rooms (we got two), there was a free bar, bouncy castle, a few pinata and some big balloons, but none of the foam party, secret rooms, photobooths, LED dance floor, dressing up closet, fairground rides, confetti bombs, giant video games, vodka guns or paint party we were promised. Some of the live music was good, with Male Bonding and Is Tropical playing live and Toddla T on the decks, but after the disappointment sunk in, half the crowd had left by 12.30am and the party was dying down before it every really begun. Project X is in theatres now.
