Make a note in your diary of these dates: 7th and 8th June. That’s when the Playground Festival returns for 2013, back once again with some of the biggest names in electronic music. This time round they’re taking over the O2’s Brixton Academy and what a line-up they’ve got for the 10,000 people they’re expecting over the duration of the weekend.

Digitalism are billed for Friday, giving a rare live performance, with support from one half of UNKLE, James Lavelle, regarded as groundbreaking artists in the genre of electronic music. French electro maestro Kavinsky also plays Friday night fresh after the release of his recent hit album, OutRun just over a month ago.

One of the most forward-thinking electronic artists, Squarepusher headlines Saturday. Since the release of his critically acclaimed album, Ufabulum, last year, his live shows have left crowds gob-smacked thanks to his audio and visual onslaught. The legendary Gary Numan also plays Saturday – a man regarded as one of the figureheads of electronic music, spearheading the genre since the late 70s and early 80s. French electro pioneer Vitalic also plays Saturday to round off an excellent weekend.
