From the 22nd to 30th April a collection of venues in London’s east end are set to play host to the tenth annual East End Film Festival, a celebration of the film medium across a diverse range of subject matter and hailing from countries all over the world as well as from home soil.

This year a greater focus has been placed on bringing material from Eastern Europe and Russia in particular and the results are set to be exciting. Directors – including acclaimed Russian filmmaker Alexei Balabanov – will be on hand to discuss their works in Q&A sessions with press and audiences.

Home grown talent will of course be on show too, and there will be screenings of The Rime of the Modern Mariner (Mark Donne’s first feature, narrated by Carl Barat) that explores the culture and folklore of the London Docks. Elsewhere there will be a host of unique events in a variety of places featuring music, art installations and performances.
